what route did you take to get to the air train? i hear lirr is the fastest.

Yeah, I took the LIRR to Jamaica station (right near the beach), and then the airtrain from there. Total time from Penn Station to Terminal 7 (which is the penultimate terminal stop) was 45 minutes, and about 8 of those were because of a delay leaving Penn.
