Macy's pulls Sean John hooded jackets

Macy's has pulled from its shelves and its Web site two styles of Sean John hooded jackets, originally advertised as featuring faux fur, after an investigation by the nation's largest animal protection organization concluded that the garments were actually made from a certain species of dog called "raccoon dog."

While I think it's beyond abhorrent to label and sell real animal fur as faux fur, the "raccoon dog" is not really a dog (yes they are closely related, as are foxes and wolves, but the distinction of domesticity is a meaningful one to some people). I think the Humane Society is knowingly pushing this as a PR gaffe due in large part to the misnomer, like if rabbis and imams decried the consumption of Guinea pigs.
