:: Calloween ::
Saturday, November 01, 2003
I'll come back to caption these, but for the sake of expediency, I'm putting up halloween pics now so all can enjoy. I'm way too hungover to think of anything pithy to add beyond that.

Actually, maybe we can group-caption these. I look forward to the potential quips about the above image, for example.

as probably the only Argentine who reads (albeit sporadically) your blogs I feel impelled to comment on your choice of 'costume' during the recent halloween holiday . I noticed your link to the great soccer legend had no photos . Perhaps this is where you went wrong. I suggest you check out diegomaradona.com (the wallpaper options are my favorite). I saw pictures of you in a jersey, but no head band (to control overgrown latin hair loaf), adidas soccer shoes, shorts, or bloody knees and elbows. I DID however, see a black tie and black pants. And I need no photo to assure me that you also wore black shoes. I guess that is your way of merlinizing the outfit. In that respect, I salute you. Many look forward to halloween as a day to hide behind a mask, or dress extra slutty. You embrace it as a day to honor two legends, the great soccer player Maradona, and a man we call Merlin.
Okay, so I'm really Chilean, but close enough. Closer than any of you other crackers.

Isn't 'Amores Perros' Mexican?

Just because you're naked
Doesn't mean you're sexy,
Just because you're cynical
Doesn't mean you're cool.
You may tell the greatest lies
And wear a brilliant disguise
But you can't escape the eyes
Of the one who sees right through you
In the end what will prevail
Is your passion not your tale,
For love is the Holy Grail,
Even in Cognito
So better listen to me, sister,
And pay close attention, mister:
It's very good to play the game,
Amuse the gods, avoid the pain,
But don't trust fortune, don't trust fame,
Your real self doesn't know your name
And in that we're all the same:
We're all incognito.
